Peter Fatse is in line to be the Phillies' next hitting coach, per a report, and will need to fix a collectively stale approach at the plate.
The Philadelphia Phillies will hire Peter Fatse as their next hitting coach, according to a report from The Athletic's Charlotte Varnes. Fatse replaces Kevin Long, who was dismissed alongside infield coach Bobby Dickerson earlier this month following the return of Don Mattingly as the club's full-time manager.
Fatse previously served as hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox under Alex Cora before being dismissed 27 games into the season following a 10-17 start. In Philadelphia, he will join Mattingly and new infield coach Carlos Mendoza to help reshape an inconsistent, veteran offense.
