The Philadelphia Phillies missed a chance to clinch an NL Wild Card spot after losing 4-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday. Despite the defeat, Philadelphia remains in position to secure a postseason berth on Thursday as the regular season enters its final four games.
Left-hander Jesús Luzardo threw catch for a fourth consecutive day as he works back from left shoulder inflammation, with the team not ruling him out for the Wild Card round. Meanwhile, Andrew Painter starts Thursday against Milwaukee, with Cristopher Sánchez lined up for Game 2 and Zack Wheeler expected to start Game 1.
