Sam Fuld Declines Offer To Become A’s President Of Baseball Operations

Philadelphia Phillies executive Sam Fuld has declined an offer from the Athletics to become their new president of baseball operations, according to a report from ESPN's Jeff Passan. Fuld, who formerly played for the Athletics and currently serves as Philadelphia's president of business operations, withdrew from consideration and will remain with the Phillies organization.

The Athletics continue their front office search, which was previously targeted for completion within a week. While Cardinals assistant general manager Rob Cerfolio is also expected to remain with St. Louis, other identified candidates include Red Sox assistant GM Taylor Smith, former Nationals president Mike Rizzo, and former Astros general manager James Click.
