Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager played through a bone spur in his elbow during the second half of the season, president of baseball operations Chris Young announced Monday. The team is currently determining whether Seager will require minor surgery, from which he would be expected to make a full recovery. Seager batted a career-low .227 with 20 home runs in 102 games during the 2026 campaign.
Young also provided health updates on several other Rangers players following an 80-82 season that saw Texas miss the playoffs. Pitcher Jacob deGrom requires rest after dealing with late-season groin tightness and hip soreness, while the team is evaluating non-surgical and surgical options for third baseman Josh Jung's broken right hand.
