The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Cleveland Guardians 7-3 on Saturday night to tie the American League Championship Series at 2-2. Nick Martinez delivered 5 1/3 strong innings to earn his first career postseason victory, allowing one run and two hits. Tampa Bay's offense generated 11 hits, led by Jonathan Aranda and Yandy Díaz, after struggling across the opening three games of the series.
Tampa Bay took control with a three-run seventh inning sparked by Aranda's single and an outfield misplay by Chase DeLauter. Díaz added a two-run homer in the ninth off Matt Festa to seal the victory. Cleveland rookie Travis Bazzana homered in the loss, and the series continues Sunday in Cleveland for Game 5.
