Around the Foghorn's Jeff Young reports that despite struggling in several areas during the 2026 season, the San Francisco Giants pitching staff excelled at limiting home runs. The Giants posted a 1.01 HR/9 rate, ranking fourth across Major League Baseball behind only the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, and St. Louis Cardinals.
Young highlights that the Giants led baseball by limiting pulled balls in the air to 16.6 percent and by inducing ground balls in 45.8 percent of batted-ball events. Key contributors mentioned include ground-ball pitchers Logan Webb and Landen Roupp, which helped offset down years in strikeouts, walks, and overall run prevention.
