While the playoffs continue, there are some news nuggets that pertain to the SF Giants. Most notably, the Arizona Diamondbacks are expected to lower payroll and the Arizona Fall League opened up on Saturday.

The Arizona Diamondbacks plan to lower their payroll heading into the offseason, owner Ken Kendrick confirmed on the Burns and Gambo Show. Kendrick stated the club will reduce spending following an 86-win season that saw them miss the playoffs for a third consecutive year after carrying a $230 million payroll against the luxury tax in 2026.
In other baseball news, the Miami Marlins dismissed hitting coach and former Giants assistant Pedro Guerrero. Elsewhere, the Arizona Fall League began play on Saturday, with Giants prospects Dakota Jordan, Kaeden Kent, and Darian Smith appearing in the Scottsdale Scorpions' 9-3 loss to the Surprise Saguaros.
