What better way for the Mariners to get rid of the dark mood of the 2026 season, than by bringing back Eugenio Suárez and his good vibes for a third time?

Paul Taylor of Sodo Mojo argues that the Seattle Mariners should pursue a third stint with veteran infielder Eugenio Suárez this offseason. Taylor contends that Suárez remains an extremely popular clubhouse presence whose leadership and infectious energy would provide valuable intangibles to a Seattle team coming off a disappointing 76-86 season.
While Suárez batted .212 overall during the 2026 campaign, he hit 26 home runs and finished the year strongly with an .886 OPS over the final two months. Taylor suggests the Mariners could sign the pending free agent to an affordable contract to serve as a platoon third baseman and designated hitter.
