Muñoz avoids serious knee injury, could return Tuesday

Seattle Mariners closer Andrés Muñoz avoided a significant right knee injury following an MRI on Tuesday, according to general manager Justin Hollander. Muñoz exited Sunday's 2-1 win over the Colorado Rockies with knee discomfort, but tests revealed no serious structural issues. The reliever participated in pregame workouts wearing a knee brace to determine his immediate availability for Tuesday's game against the Houston Astros.

Hollander also provided updates on several injured teammates, confirming that infielder/outfielder Brendan Donovan will miss the remainder of the season due to a concussion. Pitcher Emerson Hancock may also sit out the remainder of the regular season with an abductor strain, while reliever Matt Brash recently received a platelet-rich plasma injection for a right lat strain.
