The St. Louis Cardinals are hiring Joel McKeithan as their new hitting coach to replace Brant Brown, according to a report by Robert Murray of FanSided. McKeithan most recently served as an assistant hitting coach for the Chicago White Sox, where he worked with a young roster that reached the postseason. St. Louis previously parted ways with Brown at the start of the offseason after two seasons.
McKeithan becomes the third hitting coach hired by the Cardinals in the last five years, following Turner Ward and Brown. In addition to his time with the White Sox, McKeithan previously served as the hitting coach for the Cincinnati Reds and worked with the player-development program Driveline.
