Wetherholt’s stellar debut earns NL ROY finalist nod

The Baseball Writers' Association of America announced the finalists for its 2026 awards on Monday, revealing the top three vote-getters across both leagues. The categories include Most Valuable Player, Cy Young, Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, and the newly introduced Relief Pitcher of the Year. Winners will be officially revealed starting the week of Nov. 9.

Highlighting the field, Yordan Alvarez, Junior Caminero, and Bobby Witt Jr. are the American League MVP finalists, while Pete Crow-Armstrong, Shohei Ohtani, and Brice Turang contend for the National League award. Pitching standouts Dylan Cease, Cam Schlittler, and Parker Messick lead the AL Cy Young race, with Jacob Misiorowski, Chris Sale, and Cristopher Sánchez contending in the NL.
