Following a Game 5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series, the Tampa Bay Rays face five key roster questions this offseason. Rays president of baseball operations Erik Neander noted the team intends to keep ace Drew Rasmussen after exercising his $20 million club option for 2027. However, the club must evaluate financial commitments alongside potential trade interest.
Additional decisions involve rebuilding the starting rotation following the free agency of Nick Martinez and Freddy Peralta, plus Shane McClanahan's contract status. The club will also weigh whether to upgrade the bottom of the lineup and add bullpen velocity as they pursue the franchise's first World Series title.
