The Tampa Bay Rays enter the offseason positioned to strengthen a catching spot that has limited their lineup power, and an MLB analyst believes Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman could be the solution.
Bleacher Report analyst Zachary D. Rymer predicted that the Colorado Rockies will trade All-Star catcher Hunter Goodman to the Tampa Bay Rays ahead of the 2027 season. The proposed permanent trade aims to resolve Tampa Bay's persistent lack of power from the catching position.
Goodman hit 41 home runs with 88 RBIs in 2026 and remains under team control through the 2029 season. The Rays previously pursued Goodman before the July trade deadline, but Colorado's asking price reportedly remains centered on elite prospect packages.
