Texas Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott will begin playing in the outfield during the Arizona Fall League starting next week. Walcott, a career infielder playing for the Surprise Saguaros, is expanding his defensive versatility after spending most of the 2026 season limited to designated hitter duties following February internal brace surgery.
With Corey Seager and Josh Jung occupying the left side of the Rangers' infield, moving to the outfield could accelerate the 20-year-old's path to the majors. Walcott has impressed in the Fall League, slashing .300/.362/.460 with 18 RBIs and nine stolen bases over 12 games.
