Nine-year MLB veteran utilityman Tyler Wade has officially announced his retirement from professional baseball via Instagram. The 31-year-old played in the majors for the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels, Oakland Athletics, and San Diego Padres before spending his final season in the Texas Rangers organization.
Drafted by the Yankees in 2013, Wade made his MLB debut in 2017 and enjoyed his most productive season in 2021, batting .268 with 17 steals in 103 games. Over his career, he accumulated 51 stolen bases and demonstrated defensive versatility by playing every position except catcher and first base.
