10-Year Veteran Will Be A Toronto Blue Jays Free Agent This Winter

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jameson Taillon is set to become a free agent this winter following the conclusion of the 2026 MLB regular season. The 10-year veteran was acquired by Toronto from the Chicago Cubs on August 2 along with cash considerations in exchange for a player to be named later. Taillon made three starts for the Blue Jays, posting a 0-0 record and a 3.60 ERA before being placed on the 15-day injured list on September 5 due to right elbow inflammation.

Taillon was originally selected second overall in the 2010 MLB Draft and previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, and Cubs, compiling an 84-66 career record. The Blue Jays, who reached the World Series in 2025, sit in fourth place in the American League East with a 77-80 record.
