The Toronto Blue Jays have officially declined outfielder Myles Straw's $8 million club option for the 2027 season, making him a free agent. The club instead selected a $1.75 million buyout option, which will be charged to Straw's former team, the Cleveland Guardians. The announcement marks Toronto's first official roster move of the offseason.
During the 2026 campaign, Straw appeared in 147 games for Toronto, batting .241 with three home runs and 26 RBIs while posting strong outfield defense. Over two seasons with the Blue Jays, the 32-year-old played in 283 total games after being acquired in January 2025.
