Toronto Blue Jays leadership firmly dismissed suggestions that Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s difficult 2026 season was caused by structural injuries. Speaking at his year-end media availability on September 30, General Manager Ross Atkins stated that Guerrero's struggles stemmed from a disruption in rhythm and confidence rather than opposing pitcher adjustments. Atkins and President Mark Shapiro emphasized their unwavering faith that the franchise star will regain his elite form.

Sookram notes that other star hitters such as Fernando Tatis Jr. and Alex Bregman successfully rebounded from sluggish starts in 2026, leaving Guerrero with no excuses but to correct his timing next season.
