Bluebird Banter celebrated the 75th birthday of Baseball Hall of Famer Dave Winfield, highlighting his memorable stint with the Toronto Blue Jays. Winfield joined Toronto as a free agent in 1992 at age 40, batting .290 with 26 home runs and 108 RBI as a designated hitter. He served as a team leader and earned his only World Series ring during Toronto's championship run against the Atlanta Braves.
The retrospective also recognized the birthdays of former Blue Jays players Darrin Fletcher and Junior Felix. Fletcher played five seasons as a catcher in Toronto and later served as a television analyst. Felix spent two seasons in Toronto's outfield before being traded to the California Angels in a package deal for Devon White.
