Paul Goldschmidt indicated that he wants to continue playing baseball following the New York Yankees' ALDS sweep against the Tampa Bay Rays. Set to become a free agent after the World Series, the 39-year-old first baseman stated, "I love competing," after New York's 4-3 loss on Wednesday.
Goldschmidt did not specify whether he intends to return to the Yankees or sign elsewhere. During the 2026 regular season, he batted .252 with 18 home runs and 52 RBIs across 105 games, primarily serving as a platoon bat before going hitless in the postseason.
