Decorated amateur standout Kayla Gomez is set to make her professional boxing debut on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California. The El Paso native will compete in a four-round super flyweight contest as part of MF Pro’s “Pugilist Revolution” event, which will be broadcast live on DAZN.
Gomez enters the professional ranks after a distinguished amateur career where she established herself as a top American prospect. Her most notable achievement was capturing the first-ever female flyweight gold medal at the Junior Pan American Games in 2021. She now transitions to the paid ranks, stating she is ready to display her skills on a larger stage. “I’ve been waiting for this moment my entire life. Every sacrifice, every early morning run, every hard sparring session and every amateur fight has led me to this opportunity,” Gomez said. “The fans are going to see a fighter who’s hungry, disciplined, and ready to make a statement from the very first bell.”
Her opponent was recently announced as Shayntain Creer, who will also be making her professional debut. Gomez believes her extensive amateur background has prepared her for this moment. “I’ve spent years developing my skills and learning every aspect of the sport. Now it’s time to put everything together on a bigger stage,” she stated. “This debut is just the beginning, and I’m determined to make an impression that people won’t forget.”
Confidence is high following what she described as a demanding but fruitful training camp. “This training camp has been one of the hardest and most rewarding camps I’ve ever had,” Gomez noted. “I’ve never felt more prepared.
