Nassourdine Imavov has offered to wager $500,000 of his personal money to secure a UFC middleweight title fight against Sean Strickland in January. The proposal follows failed negotiations that prevented the championship rematch from headlining UFC 335 in December due to financial disagreements between Strickland and the promotion.
Imavov has not competed since defeating Caio Borralho by decision in September 2025, which he argued established him as the top division contender. Strickland previously defeated Imavov via unanimous decision in January 2023, and writer Ryan Harkness notes the UFC and Strickland remain in a standoff over pay.
