UFC debutant Bruce Whitehead was transported to a local hospital for a precautionary testicular ultrasound following a painful groin strike at UFC 332. Just 30 seconds into his bout against Jacobe Smith at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, both fighters threw simultaneous knees, resulting in a low blow that dropped Whitehead to the canvas in agony.

Whitehead elected to resume the bout without using the full recovery time, only to be stopped shortly afterward. Commentator Joe Rogan stated during the broadcast that he expected the fight to be halted following the strike. Whitehead was one of three fighters hospitalized after the event, alongside Court McGee and Andrey Pulyaev.
