Featherweight Aaron Pico explained at UFC 333 media day that he has adopted a new tactical approach to "cook the fight" rather than rushing to finish opponents quickly. Pico is preparing to face former Oktagon champion Losene Keita this Saturday in Abu Dhabi after his original opponent, Arnold Allen, was forced to withdraw from the bout.
Pico noted that while losing a top-five opponent like Allen was disappointing, Keita presents an exciting matchup for fans. Holding a 14-5 record and 1-1 in the UFC, Pico credited his debut loss against Lerone Murphy with teaching him to abandon an out-of-control fighting style in favor of patience, skill, and composure.
