Alexander Volkov defeated Rizvan Kuniev by unanimous decision at UFC 333 on Saturday and immediately called for a UFC heavyweight title shot. Volkov controlled the bout with superior striking across three rounds, securing judges' scorecards of 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27. After the victory, Volkov directly questioned UFC CEO Dana White about what else he needs to do to earn a title opportunity.
Volkov dominated distance with jabs and kicks before threatening with a late rear-naked choke in the final round. Now riding a three-fight winning streak, Volkov is reportedly targeting the winner of November's heavyweight matchup between Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit.
