The Story in 60 Seconds

Mixed martial arts officials have dismissed accusations from Ilia Topuria that Justin Gaethje loaded his gloves during their fight at UFC Freedom 250. Topuria suffered his first career defeat in the June bout on the White House lawn, losing via a fourth-round corner stoppage after suffering two broken orbitals. Topuria recently took to social media to suggest Gaethje put something unusual on his gloves.

Andy Foster, director of the California State Athletic Commission and an overseer of the Washington, D.C. event, confirmed Gaethje's gloves and wraps were fully inspected and within regulations. Former referee John McCarthy also defended Gaethje, noting that a state inspector watched trainer Trevor Wittman wrap Gaethje's hands and signed off on the process.
