Magistrate Judge David C. Keesler has ordered Joe Gibbs Racing and Spire Motorsports to exchange final race setups from the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The ruling comes amid ongoing litigation involving JGR, Spire, and former JGR competition director Chris Gabehart. JGR aims to review the setups to determine whether Spire replicated proprietary JGR configurations in its cars, alleging that Gabehart improperly shared protected technical data.
The court also ordered Spire to turn over competition meeting notes, materials, and debriefs from Cup races Gabehart attended this season to evaluate potential restraining order violations. Additionally, JGR must produce its full agreement with Toyota to resolve damages claims regarding proprietary data ownership. Both parties were encouraged to review sensitive documents within a secure clean room.
