NBA Hall of Famer Bob Pettit has passed away at the age of 93. Pettit won the league's inaugural Most Valuable Player award for the 1955-56 season and led the St. Louis Hawks to an NBA championship victory over the Boston Celtics in 1958.

Pettit spent his entire 11-season career with the Hawks from 1954 through 1965, finishing as a two-time MVP and an 11-time All-Star. Both the NBA and the Hawks franchise released official statements honoring his legacy, including his iconic 50-point display to clinch the 1958 title.
