The Portland Trail Blazers are signing veteran forward Caleb Houstan to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Joe Freeman of The Oregonian. Portland has three openings on its preseason roster, so no corresponding roster move is required. The plan is for Houstan to eventually join Portland's G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix.
Houstan was waived by the New Orleans Pelicans earlier in the week following training camp. Over four NBA seasons with Orlando and Atlanta, the former 2022 second-round pick appeared in 186 regular-season games, shooting 37.8 percent from three-point range. His Exhibit 10 deal allows for a bonus of up to $91,000 if he spends at least 60 days with the Remix.
