Celtics HC Joe Mazzulla Takes Action After Pablo Torre’s Investigation Into Alleged Christian ‘Scam’

Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has severed all ties with Life Surge, a Christian seminar organization accused of predatory financial practices. Mazzulla's decision follows an investigative report by Pablo Torre and Mother Jones reporter Kiera Butler on the podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out. Mazzulla confirmed to The Boston Globe that he canceled a scheduled October 17 appearance in Hartford, Connecticut, and requested the removal of his name from the group's website.

Mazzulla explained that he originally sought to use the platform to share his faith but completely withdrew once the allegations regarding high-pressure sales tactics surfaced. The investigative report also highlighted former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, who has reportedly paused his relationship with Life Surge while conducting an independent review.
