Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has officially cut ties with Life Surge following an investigative report by journalist Pablo Torre and Mother Jones reporter Kiera Butler detailing alleged predatory financial practices. Mazzulla canceled an upcoming speaking appearance scheduled for October 17 in Hartford, Connecticut, and requested the organization remove his likeness from its website.

Mazzulla stated that he backed out immediately upon learning about the allegations, emphasizing his desire to avoid negatively impacting people. Former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, who had over 20 scheduled appearances with the organization, is also pausing his relationship while conducting an independent review.
