George put out a playoff-caliber defensive intensity in his preseason debut.

Boston.com's Colin McCarthy argues that Paul George is a significantly better fit for the Boston Celtics than skeptics initially claimed following the trade that sent Jaylen Brown away. In his preseason debut against his former team, the Philadelphia 76ers, George recorded 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and five steals, displaying playoff-caliber defensive intensity under head coach Joe Mazzulla.
McCarthy asserts that George complements Jayson Tatum effectively by spacing the floor and embracing a supporting role to reduce pressure on Boston's primary star. While noting George's injury history remains a risk, McCarthy believes the veteran wing has completely bought into Boston's championship pursuit.
