The NBA season is only three days in, and several teams have yet to play their first game. The Denver Nuggets are one of these teams, as their first tip-off isn’t set until later tonight.
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic shared his thoughts ahead of his team's regular-season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jokic explained that he is approaching the challenging matchup calmly, noting plans to share a meal with Serbian national teammate Nikola Topic. He acknowledged that while normal pregame nerves remain a driving force, the matchup serves as a valuable early test against a high-caliber opponent.
Oklahoma City enters the contest with a 1-0 record following an opening victory over the San Antonio Spurs, powered by a 32-point display from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are opening their campaign with a largely intact core following their playoff exit against the Minnesota Timberwolves, though the roster saw Peyton Watson depart for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the offseason.
