Caleb Wilson is a critical part of Chicago's future, but Matas Buzelis's evolution should matter more this season.

Writer Andrew Hanlon argues that developing forward Matas Buzelis should be the Chicago Bulls' main priority this season over rookie Caleb Wilson. Despite the excitement surrounding Wilson, who was selected fourth overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, Hanlon contends that Buzelis is already primed to become the franchise's leader.
Buzelis made significant strides during his second season, averaging 16.3 points and 1.5 blocks across 77 starts under head coach Billy Donovan. Alongside Victor Wembanyama, he was one of only two players to record 100 three-pointers and 100 blocks during the campaign.
