Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson has shared injury updates on Sam Merrill, Nae’Qwan Tomlin, and Khalifa Diop ahead of the regular season. Atkinson noted that all players practiced except Tomlin, while Merrill was limited. Diop, who missed the preseason alongside Tomlin, is working back from a setback injury as he prepares for his rookie NBA campaign.
Merrill, who appeared in two preseason games, is expected to provide key perimeter shooting following the departure of Max Strus. The Cavaliers will open their regular season on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday before hosting the Brooklyn Nets for their home opener on Saturday.
