Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson shared a positive update regarding forward Jaylon Tyson, noting that his right ankle sprain is not expected to be a long-term issue. Tyson was ruled out for three consecutive games, including two matchups against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Although initially listed with a cervical strain, the Cavaliers changed his injury status prior to a game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Tyson has averaged 7.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists across five appearances this season. In his absence, teammates Mario Hezonja, Sam Merrill, and rookie Meleek Thomas have seen increased playing time.
