Playing without suspended owner Steve Ballmer in attendance, the Clippers were led by Darius Garland's game-high 30 points. Head coach Tyronn Lue dedicated the season-opening win to Ballmer following the game.

Ballmer is serving a one-year league suspension after the NBA found the franchise guilty of salary cap circumvention involving Kawhi Leonard.
