DALLAS — Tarik Biberović is trying to show the Dallas Mavericks physicality, defense, rebounding, and basketball IQ in training camp, not just the shooting that made his name at Fenerbahçe, he said Friday after the sixth practice.
Dallas Mavericks coach Dusty May praised new sharpshooter Tarik Biberović during training camp, revealing that the forward's defense has developed further along than anticipated. Biberović, known primarily for his perimeter shooting during his time with Fenerbahçe, stated he aims to demonstrate physicality, rebounding, and basketball IQ to secure playing time with Dallas.
Dallas acquired Biberović's draft rights in July as part of a six-team trade before signing him to a reported two-year, $6 million contract. May noted that while Biberović is adapting to a less structured system and NBA pace, his shooting and defensive progress will factor into his rotation minutes.
