The New York Knicks will have to cross another name off their list of potential additions. The reigning champions recently parted ways with veteran John Konchar, as the fight for the roster spot remains. Now, another pursuit of their targets…

The New York Knicks will not acquire center Moussa Cisse after the Dallas Mavericks decided to retain the 24-year-old on a fully guaranteed contract for the 2026-27 season. New York originally signed the restricted free agent to a two-year, $4.7 million offer sheet in July, which Dallas matched. Despite frontcourt roster pressure, the Mavericks opted to protect Cisse rather than waive him before his salary guarantee deadline.
With Cisse unavailable, the Knicks are continuing their search for a backup center through trade talks and training camp competition. New York's internal center battle currently features veterans Drew Eubanks, James Wiseman, and Tony Bradley competing alongside Andre Drummond.
