DALLAS — Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg will play in the same game at American Airlines Center for the first time Friday night, when the Dallas Mavericks close the preseason against the Atlanta Hawks.
Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg are set to play together at American Airlines Center for the first time on Friday night as the Dallas Mavericks host the Atlanta Hawks in their preseason finale. Both players, along with Daniel Gafford and rookie Morez Johnson Jr., sat out Wednesday's 101-97 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Mavericks coach Dusty May stated the team will deploy a regular rotation closer to regular-season action.
Irving recently returned from a torn ACL suffered in March 2025, playing alongside Flagg for the first time during a 132-115 preseason win over the Houston Rockets in Macao. The matchup also features forward Zaccharie Risacher facing Atlanta for the first time since being traded to Dallas in July.
