The Denver Nuggets just signed Ryan Nembhard to a two-way deal, and this move shows that the Dallas Mavericks rushed into giving him a standard contract.

Noah Weber of The Smoking Cuban argues that Ryan Nembhard signing a two-way contract with the Denver Nuggets proves the Dallas Mavericks rushed converting him to a standard contract last season. Nembhard was traded to the Atlanta Hawks for Zaccharie Risacher and subsequently waived by the Charlotte Hornets before landing in Denver.
Weber asserts that the lack of standard contract offers during Nembhard's free agency shows Dallas could have retained him on a two-way deal. The writer believes Dallas will miss Nembhard's playmaking depth under head coach Dusty May after he averaged 5.3 assists per game as a rookie.
