Darius Acuff Jr. delivered a strong Sacramento Kings debut in a 127-103 preseason loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The No. 7 overall pick scored 19 points on 8-of-17 shooting, while adding four assists, two rebounds, one steal, and one block across 27 minutes. Acuff scored 17 of his points in the first half while running the offense alongside center Domantas Sabonis.
The performance helped alleviate concerns regarding Acuff's scoring efficiency after he shot just 35% during Summer League play. Kings head coach Doug Christie projects Acuff to start long-term at point guard, where Sacramento aims to balance his role alongside Sabonis and new backcourt addition Zach LaVine.
