Alpha Diallo has Nuggets looking for ways to put his versatility to work

The Denver Nuggets are exploring ways to integrate 29-year-old rookie free agent Alpha Diallo into their regular rotation following an impressive start to training camp. Head coach David Adelman plans to utilize the defensive specialist in key tactical roles, noting that Diallo's high motor and perimeter versatility could allow Denver to implement aggressive, fronting defensive schemes similar to how opponents guard Nikola Jokic.

Offensively, Adelman plans to experiment with Diallo in the dunker spot to maximize team spacing around post-ups. Diallo, who previously converted 66.7 percent of rim attempts with EuroLeague club AS Monaco, has also showcased his capability as a cutter, slasher, and perimeter shooter during preseason action against the Utah Jazz.
