The Nuggets will likely keep their 15th roster spot open for a bit. They should fill it with Cam Whitmore when the time is right.
David Decker of Nugg Love argues that two-way wing Cam Whitmore is making a strong case to earn the Denver Nuggets' 15th and final roster spot later in the season. Denver has kept the spot open for financial reasons as they sit $3.15 million over the second apron penalty threshold, but converting Whitmore toward the end of the year would make him eligible for the postseason.
Whitmore recently bolstered his case by scoring 14 points in 14 minutes during Denver's 117-106 preseason victory against the Utah Jazz. Decker highlights Whitmore's athleticism, scoring ability, and development environment alongside veterans like Aaron Gordon as key reasons to eventually promote him.
