The Denver Nuggets held backup forward Spencer Jones out of Thursday night's season opener against Oklahoma City as a precautionary measure. Jones has been dealing with a hamstring issue since training camp, and while he expected to be ready, team officials decided not to risk further injury following Thursday morning's shootaround.
Coach David Adelman explained that the move was made to be careful with Jones rather than risk losing him for an extended period. Denver previously matched a two-year offer sheet from the Thunder to keep Jones, intending for him to play an expanded role in their depleted reserve unit.
