Jalen Duren contract situation with Pistons officially a holdout

Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren is officially holding out after skipping Media Day and the start of training camp due to stalled contract negotiations. The 22-year-old restricted free agent has until Thursday to accept Detroit's one-year, $9.6 million qualifying offer, which would allow him to reach unrestricted free agency next summer.

Detroit reportedly offered Duren a fully guaranteed five-year, $200 million deal, but Duren is seeking closer to a five-year maximum contract worth roughly $287 million. Duren reportedly feels disrespected by the process following an All-Star season in which he averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds.
