Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren asserted that his team is not afraid of adversity following a 121-113 season-opening comeback victory over the Boston Celtics. Despite facing a 22-point deficit, Detroit rallied behind their gritty identity to secure the win. Duren warned the rest of the NBA that the Pistons will continue to fight regardless of circumstances.
Duren put on a strong display despite a prolonged contract dispute, finishing the contest with 22 points and nine rebounds. The win reinforced Detroit's heightened expectations following a 60-win regular season and an Eastern Conference-leading campaign the previous year.
