Jalen Duren Makes Honest Assessment About Detroit Pistons Return

Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren reflected positively on his return to the court after scoring 24 points in 15 minutes during a preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Duren expressed eagerness to rejoin his teammates and coaching staff following an offseason contract dispute, noting that he worked consistently during his absence to stay ready for the upcoming campaign.

The 22-year-old had missed media day and the start of training camp before agreeing to a five-year, $200 million guaranteed contract extension on October 1, 2026. Negotiations had stalled over valuation and a disputed weight monitoring clause before the team removed the clause to finalize the agreement ahead of the deadline.
