Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren scored 24 points in just 15 first-half minutes during a 128-106 preseason victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Duren shot 8-of-9 from the field and 8-of-8 from the free-throw line in his first appearance since May 2026. Teammate Cade Cunningham added 14 points and nine assists as Detroit improved its preseason record to 2-1.
The performance followed Duren signing a five-year, $200 million contract extension on October 1 after a contract standoff that caused him to miss training camp. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff praised Duren's explosiveness, and author Edward Perovic writes that the strong outing provides early justification for the Pistons' substantial financial commitment.
