Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson announced to reporters that the team's starting lineup has not yet been finalized ahead of the upcoming NBA season. Atkinson stated that the coaching staff has the entire training camp to evaluate the roster and determine who will earn the final starting roles alongside returning core players.

While returning starters Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, James Harden, and Jarrett Allen are widely expected to retain their spots, the remaining position remains open. Newly acquired Peyton Watson is competing for playing time on the wing against Jaylon Tyson, Mario Hezonja, and Sam Merrill.
